Postdoctoral Researcher – Net‑Zero Pakistan Project

About the role

The Postdoctoral Researcher will serve as the in‑country technical lead for CERP’s Net‑Zero Pakistan Project, building on Princeton University’s Net‑Zero America methodology. The role involves producing granular spatial, temporal, sectoral and socio‑economic analyses to guide Pakistan’s energy and climate policy towards net‑zero emissions while supporting economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of the Net‑Zero Pakistan research agenda.
• Conduct spatial and temporal modeling of energy systems, infrastructure, and land‑use scenarios.
• Collaborate with Princeton’s Andlinger Center, CERP research fellows, and Pakistani policymakers.
• Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and academic publications.
• Organise and present findings at national and international conferences and dissemination events.

Required profile

• PhD in Energy Economics, Climate Policy, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in quantitative research and policy‑relevant analysis.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
