Product Development Engineer – Sporting Accessories

About the role

PUMA is seeking a motivated Product Development Engineer to lead the creation and refinement of sporting accessories such as goalkeeper gloves, footballs, shin guards, handballs and related small items. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned accessory styles from prototype through sample approval.
• Coordinate with suppliers on sample progress, technical execution and corrective actions.
• Support costing and feasibility discussions with cross‑functional teams.
• Track development timelines, ensure milestone adherence and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with Business Units, Materials, Order Management, Production and QA on specifications and updates.
• Monitor quality standards, testing requirements and escalate risks or delays promptly.

Required profile

• University degree in Sports Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4+ years of experience in product development, preferably with accessories.
• Strong knowledge of product construction, materials and development processes.
• Excellent organizational, follow‑up and communication skills.
