Production Planning & Control Manager (Textile & Apparel)

About the role

The Production Planning and Control Manager leads and optimises manufacturing operations in the textile and apparel sector, overseeing the full production cycle from material planning to delivery. The role ensures that both local and export demands are met while minimising operational costs and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute master production plans and weekly/monthly schedules aligned with confirmed orders and demand forecasts.
• Coordinate material resource planning with procurement and merchandising to ensure timely supply of fabrics, trims and accessories.
• Evaluate factory capacity on a product‑by‑product basis and allocate resources using capacity requirement planning techniques.
• Manage the Time & Action calendar to monitor critical production paths from order receipt through cutting, stitching, finishing and dispatch, preventing bottlenecks.
• Track work‑in‑progress inventory, reduce idle time and dead stock, and control overall inventory holding costs.
• Generate performance reports and KPIs focused on on‑time, in‑full delivery and resource utilisation.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of seven professionals, fostering cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in production planning and control within the textile or apparel industry.
• Strong ability to coordinate with procurement, merchandising and quality teams to guarantee material availability.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and developing a production team.

• Oracle Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
• ERP systems implementation and usage.
• Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodology.
• Capacity requirement planning techniques.
