Project Officer – Private Sector Development & Investments

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Islamabad seeks a Project Officer to support private sector development, investment promotion and economic growth initiatives. Working under the Head of the Rural Development and Economic Growth section, the officer will help design, implement and monitor EU‑funded projects that contribute to Pakistan’s sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of ongoing projects in private sector development, investment and economic growth.
• Assist in the formulation and advancement of new interventions aligned with EU strategies such as the Global Gateway.
• Prepare regular progress reports, financial updates and performance analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with Pakistani government agencies, private sector partners, NGOs and EU Member State representations.
• Ensure compliance with EU procurement rules, donor regulations and project timelines.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, business administration, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in project management within development cooperation or private sector development.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with EU development programmes.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Urdu is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a multicultural diplomatic environment.
