Psychologist

About the role

Khan Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate, ethical Psychologist to provide professional mental health support to clients in Karachi. The Psychologist will assess clients' needs, develop suitable care plans and deliver evidence-informed counseling in a respectful and confidential setting, working collaboratively with clients and, where appropriate and authorized, with other care providers. The position is based in Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and structured intake interviews to understand clients' concerns and strengths.
• Provide individual counseling and psychotherapy using approaches suited to each client's needs and treatment goals.
• Develop, document and review treatment plans, progress notes and referrals in line with professional and organizational standards.
• Monitor client progress and adjust interventions based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
• Maintain confidentiality, informed consent, professional boundaries and accurate client records.
• Recognize risk and safeguarding concerns, take appropriate steps and coordinate referrals or urgent support when needed.
• Collaborate with relevant professionals to contribute to a supportive, client-centered service.

Required profile

• Knowledge of psychological assessment, case formulation and evidence-informed counseling or psychotherapy methods.
• Ability to run intake interviews, identify presenting concerns and set clear, measurable treatment goals.
• Strong active listening, empathy, communication and rapport-building skills.
• Sound understanding of confidentiality, informed consent, professional ethics and client safeguarding.
• Culturally sensitive practice and respectful communication with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Good organization, sound judgment, professional boundaries and commitment to continuing learning.

The advertised monthly pay is PKR 60,000 to 120,000.
