Quality Engineer – Automation & AI (Remote)

About the role

Zyte is seeking a Quality Engineer who will work within its unified Quality Engineering function. This is an automation‑first, AI‑native position that operates remotely and is embedded directly in engineering squads. You will design risk‑based test strategies, convert them into automated checks with AI‑assisted tools, and help raise the overall quality, speed, and reliability of software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design risk‑based test strategies for new features and releases.
• Rapidly generate automated coverage using AI coding agents such as Claude Code within VS Code.
• Build and maintain Playwright test suites integrated into GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
• Create agentic testing workflows that leverage AI models and APIs.
• Develop reusable frameworks, utilities, and AI‑powered tools to accelerate test authoring.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to shift quality left.
• Continuously improve test suite health by reducing flakiness and increasing execution speed.
• Own quality metrics like automated coverage growth, escaped defects, and release confidence.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to review and debug code in any modern programming language.
• Experience with modern test automation frameworks, preferably Playwright.
• Proven ability to work with AI coding agents as a primary development partner.
• Comfort delegating implementation work to AI while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
