Recovery & Collections Officer

About the role

The company is looking for someone whose main focus is getting money in the door, from chasing overdue invoices to physically collecting cheques and taking them to the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on all outstanding receivables by calls, emails, visits and in-person collections
• Collect cheques and payments from customers when needed
• Maintain and work the receivables aging report (0-30, 31-60, 61-90, 90+ days)
• Coordinate with the sales team on overdue accounts and billing disputes
• Post customer receipts and payment entries in Odoo ERP
• Carry out monthly customer account reconciliations
• Report collections progress to management weekly and escalate high-risk or long-overdue accounts with recommendations

Required profile

• 2-4 years in recovery, collections or receivables management, ideally in trading, distribution or supply chain
• Persistent, professional and comfortable going out to collect, not just working from a desk
• Bachelor's degree in Accounts and Finance or equivalent
• Knowledge of the scientific, medical or lab supplies market is a bonus

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP strongly preferred
• Comfortable with Excel (aging reports, trackers)
