Regional Treasury Manager – Finance

About the role

The Regional Treasury Manager – Finance will oversee cash and liquidity operations for a multi‑country business in South Asia. Reporting to Alibaba Group Treasury and partnering with Daraz’s local finance team, you will ensure efficient capital use, robust risk controls and compliance across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cash forecasting, liquidity monitoring and inter‑company fund transfers to maximise group‑wide capital efficiency.
• Ensure at least 90 % of idle cash is placed in high‑yield savings accounts and explore compliant yield‑enhancement opportunities.
• Conduct operational reviews of treasury processes to maintain internal controls, approval workflows and SOPs aligned with Alibaba Group policies.
• Optimize banking relationships, close redundant accounts, negotiate fees and transition settlements to secure electronic payment methods.
• Manage bank guarantees, migrate to international banks and align with the centralized guarantee framework.
• Monitor treasury risks, prepare monthly reports on cash positions, bank guarantees, external loans and FX revaluation impacts.
• Track FX exposure in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, benchmark internal FX rates and perform counter‑party credit assessments.
• Design cross‑border cash pooling and settlement mechanisms to resolve trapped‑cash challenges.
• Provide dual accountability to Alibaba Group Treasury and Daraz’s local CFO, remotely leading a dispersed treasury team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification such as CTP, CPA or ACCA is preferred.
• Significant experience in treasury, cash management or liquidity planning within a regional or multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, FX risk management and treasury compliance.
