Remote Marketing Coordinator

About the role

Muslim Food Bank and Community Services is a community-based charitable organization founded in 2010, providing food assistance alongside case management and support services. It is looking for a remote Marketing Coordinator to run day-to-day social media, newsletters and event listings for the organization and its related pages, for both Canadian and international audiences. The coordinator plans and schedules content each month, keeps channels active and respectful, and tracks what goes out.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain social media calendars for Canadian and international audiences, writing taglines and captions and scheduling posts and videos across all pages
• Post regular stories and timely updates, event posts and videos as they happen
• Prepare and send weekly email newsletters to Canadian and international audiences, and share posts regularly on WhatsApp groups and the WhatsApp channel
• Create event pages on Eventbrite for workshops such as financial literacy and employment readiness
• Upload photos and videos to Google Business Profiles
• Receive, organize and manage photos and videos sent by Canadian teams, and monitor and moderate comments across platforms
• Keep social media trackers up to date

Required profile

• 2 years of experience managing social media for an organization, business or community group
• Strong written English, with clear and accurate captions and taglines
• Organized and reliable with recurring deadlines across several channels
• Comfortable working independently with Canadian teams across time zones
• Nice to have: degree in marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms, including scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite, Buffer or Later
• Email newsletters with a tool such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact
• Nice to have: Eventbrite, Google Business Profile and WhatsApp Channels; basic photo and video editing (e.g. Canva or CapCut); project management and collaboration tools such as Asana and Slack
