Senior Auditor – Wholesale Audit

About the role

The Senior Auditor – Wholesale Audit will lead audit engagements focused on wholesale credit risk, corporate and investment banking products, and regulatory compliance for Mashreq Bank. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, you will manage a small‑to‑medium team, ensure timely delivery of high‑quality audit reports and validate action plans.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the annual audit plan for assigned business units in line with internal audit standards, regulatory requirements and bank policies.
• Lead and supervise on‑site and off‑site audit reviews, identify risks early and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and present audit reports, validate internal audit action plans and monitor their implementation.
• Develop strong relationships with senior line management and understand business processes to assess control environments.
• Apply data‑analytics techniques and technology to enhance audit effectiveness.
• Manage audit budgets, resources and ensure compliance with turnaround times and credit policies.
• Continuously assess the risk environment and contribute to the annual risk assessment process.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of internal audit standards, wholesale credit risk and corporate & investment banking products.
• Proven experience leading audit teams and managing audit assignments.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, political astuteness and cultural sensitivity.
• Experience in risk assessment and regulatory compliance within a banking environment.
