Senior Backend Developer (AWS & Distributed Systems)

About the role

A paid, full-time Senior Backend Developer position in Karachi, working a night shift (7:00 PM to 4:00 AM). The role drives the core server infrastructure, APIs and transactional engines for high-throughput digital streaming, social platforms and e-commerce ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-concurrency microservices (Node.js/TypeScript, Python or Go) for media ingestion, ticketing, social feeds and payment processing.
• Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS (PostgreSQL/Aurora), ElastiCache (Redis), S3, CloudFront and AWS Media Services.
• Implement low-latency streaming infrastructure, SPEKE v2 DRM content protection, LL-HLS video delivery and WebRTC signaling gateways.
• Architect transactional subsystems including row-level seat locking, dynamic TOTP QR ticketing, PCI-compliant payments (Stripe, Apple/Google Pay) and double-entry ledger accounting.
• Integrate real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech pipelines, WebRTC media streams and multi-tier AI execution engines.
• Optimize database schemas and Redis caching, maintain PCI-DSS compliance and security, write automated tests and manage CI/CD pipelines on AWS.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and deploying production-grade backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS compute and containerization (ECS/EKS, Fargate, Lambda, Docker).
• Deep expertise in relational database design (PostgreSQL DDL/DML, indexing, ACID transactions) and ledger/financial accounting integrity.
• Knowledge of WebSockets, gRPC, Redis Pub/Sub, HLS/LL-HLS delivery and WebRTC.
