Senior Consultant – Indirect Tax Transaction Advisory (MENA)

About the role

EY is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its Indirect Tax team. The Senior Consultant will advise clients on transaction tax matters across the GCC and MENA regions, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and VAT/GST compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide transaction tax advisory services for M&A and restructuring projects in the GCC and MENA.
• Conduct due‑diligence reviews to identify tax risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and review VAT/GST and other indirect tax compliance documentation for transaction entities.
• Collaborate with tax and finance workstreams to deliver efficient outcomes.
• Assist the central tax team in interpreting tax implications of business decisions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of GCC indirect tax legislation.
• Mentor and train junior staff in indirect tax advisory practices.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in transaction tax advisory and due diligence, preferably at a Big 4 firm.
• Experience structuring and advising on direct and indirect tax aspects of M&A.
• Proven ability to identify and mitigate tax risks.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent English (Arabic comprehension desirable but not required).
