Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to lead the design, testing, and commissioning of skid packages and Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP) for process automation projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities and Renewable Energy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review of RFQs, client specifications, datasheets and standards for E&I scope related to skids and WHCP.
• Take technical ownership from concept through detailed design, testing, FAT, commissioning and project close‑out.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as specifications, design documents, instrument datasheets, logic diagrams and technical documentation.
• Perform and verify electrical and instrumentation calculations including load, cable sizing, voltage‑drop, intrinsically safe circuits, heat‑load and WHCP sizing.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews and ensure integration with mechanical, process and piping disciplines.
• Lead technical discussions with clients, vendors and consultants to resolve design issues and obtain approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 7‑8 years of E&I engineering experience in Oil & Gas, EPC or process industries, specifically with skid packages and wellhead systems.
• Proven experience in design, testing, FAT, commissioning and technical support of E&I systems.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, API, ISA, NFPA and client‑specific standards.

Required skills

• Electrical load calculations, cable sizing, instrument voltage‑drop and heat‑load calculations.
• Intrinsically safe (IS) circuit design and WHCP sizing.
• Panel layout and electrical schematic development.
• Cable and junction‑box schedules, routing layouts and instrument installation details.
• Pneumatic/process hook‑ups, interconnection, loop and Instrument Loop Diagrams (ILDs).
• Vendor technical bid evaluation and documentation review.
