Senior MEP Engineer

About the role

Aga Khan University is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) maintenance function across its facilities. You will ensure that all mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and licensing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and perform routine mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose major equipment failures, prepare repair recommendations and cost estimates for management.
• Monitor mechanical systems for optimal performance and take immediate corrective action when abnormalities arise.
• Inspect equipment plants and installations, reviewing design drawings for required changes.
• Supervise contractors and vendor personnel, ensuring contract compliance and cost control.
• Conduct quality‑control inspections to meet performance standards.
• Develop and mentor a skilled maintenance team.
• Assist in annual budget planning, track expenditures, and recommend equipment replacement options.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with industry mechanical standards and codes.
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment used in hospital or hotel environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
