Senior Node.js Developer

About the role

PsychPlus builds technology-driven solutions to make mental healthcare more accessible and efficient. It is looking for a Senior Node.js Developer to join its engineering team and help build, maintain and scale reliable backend systems. The role is fully remote for candidates based in Pakistan, within an international engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
• Design, optimize and manage database structures and queries
• Integrate third-party APIs, services and external platforms
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable and well-tested code
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical issues
• Implement authentication, authorization and security best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers and other engineers
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions and architecture decisions
• Monitor, troubleshoot and improve application performance and reliability

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, preferably focused on Node.js
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues and take features from development to production
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote team

Required skills

• Node.js and extensive hands-on backend development
• JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Express.js or NestJS
• PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB
• Git and version control
• Nice to have: React.js, Next.js, Flutter, Docker, CI/CD, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, Redis, message queues, HIPAA awareness
