Senior Plant Room Engineer (MEP)

About the role

The Senior Plant Room Engineer will lead the safe, energy‑efficient operation, maintenance and repair of critical plant equipment including chillers, cooling towers, boilers and calorifiers. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role ensures compliance with statutory regulations and supports continuous improvement of plant reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of centrifugal and absorption chillers, cooling towers, boilers and calorifiers.
• Ensure boiler performance complies with government boiler regulations and high‑pressure vessel laws.
• Plan and execute seasonal preventive maintenance (PPM) using the CMMS and coordinate annual boiler inspections.
• Provide training to staff on statutory compliance and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with control‑room engineers and HVAC teams to guarantee smooth plant operations.
• Monitor water‑treatment processes and maintain minimum stock levels of spares and chemicals.
• Implement strategies to reduce equipment breakdowns and ensure uninterrupted service.
• Plan replacement of inefficient plant‑room equipment and perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical plant operations and utilities.
• Proven ability to manage plant‑room equipment independently.
