Senior Procurement Executive

About the role

The Senior Procurement Executive will lead end‑to‑end sourcing for Biafo Industries Ltd., a leading manufacturer of commercial explosives and blasting accessories. The role focuses on building reliable supplier networks, managing complex contracts and ensuring safe, compliant procurement of hazardous chemicals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category management for raw materials, catalysts and industrial chemicals, leveraging experience in cement, fertilizer or oil & gas sectors.
• Manage the full import lifecycle: open letters of credit, coordinate with freight forwarders, handle customs HS‑code classification and optimise duties.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Explosives, EPA and ISO standards for dangerous goods, including safety labeling, transport and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with plant operations and finance to align procurement cycles with production peaks, using ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle) for MRP and inventory tracking.
• Maintain supplier performance scorecards and drive continuous improvement in quality, lead‑time and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business Administration.
• 5‑7 years of procurement experience in cement, fertilizer, oil & gas or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills, including spend analysis and forecasting.
