Shipping Operations Executive - Dry Bulk & Chartering

About the role

An experienced Dry Bulk Operations and Chartering Executive is sought to manage end-to-end vessel operations, charter party compliance, voyage performance and commercial settlements for international dry bulk shipments. The position is full-time and on-site in Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre-fixture and post-fixture vessel operations and voyage planning
• Prepare voyage estimates, analyse costs and calculate voyage profitability
• Review charter party agreements, fixture recaps and vessel documentation
• Coordinate with vessel masters, shipowners, charterers and international port agents
• Manage cargo documentation, bills of lading and port clearance
• Monitor vessel performance, bunker consumption and port operations
• Calculate laytime, demurrage and despatch claims
• Audit port disbursement accounts and manage final voyage settlements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics or a related field preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in dry bulk shipping, vessel operations, post-fixture management or commercial shipping; 5-7 years listed in the advert
• Strong knowledge of charter party agreements, GENCON, laytime calculations and demurrage claims
• Familiarity with Karachi Port and Port Qasim operations
• Excellent English communication and negotiation skills
• Flexibility to handle time-sensitive operations outside regular office hours
• Preferred: seagoing experience as a Deck Officer, familiarity with maritime software such as VESION IMOS, Dataloy or Danaos, and experience with bulk cement, clinker, coal or rice shipments
