Shopify Developer (Contract, On-Site)

About the role

Global Youth Skill Hub, an education and training platform focused on digital skills training and freelancing guidance, is hiring a contract, on-site Shopify Developer in Islamabad, Pakistan. The developer configures, customizes and maintains Shopify stores, working closely with designers and content teams.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, customize and maintain Shopify stores, including theme development and layout adjustments.
• Integrate apps to improve functionality and user experience.
• Build and optimize product pages, manage collections and ensure mobile responsiveness.
• Implement performance and SEO best practices.
• Collaborate with designers and content teams, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth checkout and payment flows.
• Document changes, follow project timelines and support continuous improvement of the e-commerce platform.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in web development or e-commerce platforms; a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently within project deadlines, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Strong Shopify development, including theme customization, Liquid templating and app integration.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive design frameworks.
• E-commerce best practices: UX optimization, SEO fundamentals and site performance tuning.
• Familiarity with payment gateways, third-party APIs and basic integration troubleshooting.
• Advantage: version control (Git) and basic knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
