Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, 364 days)

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change Officer will support UNICEF’s polio eradication programme and integrated service delivery in Sindh by designing, implementing and monitoring evidence‑based behavior change initiatives. This is a temporary, 364‑day appointment based in Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and use research, data and evidence to inform the design and monitoring of SBC programs in development and emergency contexts.
• Design, plan and implement SBC activities that promote demand generation and behavioral change for health, nutrition, WASH, child protection and education.
• Mobilize resources, coordinate across community, district and provincial stakeholders, and build partnerships.
• Provide continuous capacity‑building for UNICEF staff and implementing partners, including training needs assessments and resource development.
• Ensure coordination and accountability of community networks (ComNet) at all levels.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in social and behavior change, community mobilization or public health communication.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and other partners in a collaborative manner.
• Experience in both development and humanitarian settings is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to translate research findings into actionable program designs.
