Social Protection & NSER Coordination Support Consultant (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a qualified consultant to provide technical support for social protection and National Social Emergency Response (NSER) coordination. The role is remote and lasts for 12 months, focusing on evidence generation, data analysis, and capacity building to help governments reduce child poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of social protection policies and NSER coordination mechanisms.
• Generate and analyse evidence, data and research to inform financing strategies for child poverty reduction.
• Assist governments and partners in improving budgeting, planning and delivery of child‑sensitive social services.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and coordination among UNICEF, national authorities and development partners.
• Prepare reports, policy briefs and technical notes for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Public Policy or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in finance, evidence generation, data research or coordination within the development sector.
• Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of additional local languages is an asset.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and research capabilities.
• Experience with data collection, analysis and evidence‑based reporting.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives and produce technical documentation.
