Software Developer - Payments Platform

About the role

Contour, part of Constellation Software, is hiring a software developer for the team that builds new features on PerseusPay, a cloud-native, PCI-DSS-compliant payments platform for marine, outdoor power equipment and RV dealers in the US and Canada. You will own features from an incomplete brief through to production, across backend APIs, UI and payment processor integrations, working behind feature flags.

Key responsibilities

• Take a feature from PRD or user story to production: clarify scope, design, build, test and release behind a feature flag.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, background processing and database changes in C# / .NET.
• Build and maintain the React UI for the dealer portal, embedded payment page and checkout plugin.
• Integrate with payment processor APIs and webhooks, and spot gaps and edge cases in requirements.
• Write unit and integration tests, take part in code reviews and meet SonarQube and secure coding standards.
• Keep production safe with structured logging, error handling, idempotency, retries and concurrency safety; support QA and release validation.
• Keep technical notes, decision records and Azure DevOps items current, and work with AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development, with strong C# / .NET and ASP.NET Core REST API experience.
• Strong SQL Server skills: schema design, query tuning, transactions, locking and deadlocks.
• Proven record of delivering features with incomplete or changing requirements.
• Ability to work independently across time zones, with strong written English and solid engineering habits (unit tests, code reviews, Git branching, CI/CD).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Backend: C# on .NET 8 (moving toward .NET 10), ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core, Azure Functions.
• Frontend: React / JavaScript SPA.
• Data: Azure SQL, Redis, Azure Service Bus.
• Azure services: App Service, API Management, Front Door with WAF, SignalR, Key Vault, Application Insights, OAuth2 / JWT, Duende IdentityServer.
• Delivery: Azure DevOps, Datadog, feature flags, Postman.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with Claude Code, MCP servers, Redis caching and Service Bus patterns, Datadog pipelines, Terraform awareness.
