Associate Product Manager - Data & APIs

About the role

A motivated and detail-oriented Associate Product Manager for data products and APIs is sought to join a product team. The role works closely with engineering, data and business teams to define, build and improve data-driven products and API solutions. It suits someone who understands technical concepts, enjoys working with data and wants to grow their career in product management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining and managing the product roadmap for data products and APIs.
• Work with engineering, data science and development teams to turn business requirements into clear product requirements.
• Gather, analyze and document requirements for APIs, data services and integrations.
• Create and maintain PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria and API documentation.
• Understand API architecture, endpoints, authentication, data formats and integrations with technical teams.
• Monitor API performance, availability, usage and key product metrics; analyze data for trends and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate stakeholder priorities for features, enhancements and bug fixes, and support API testing and validation.
• Help make APIs user-friendly, scalable and well documented, and conduct competitor and market research.
• Collect user feedback, track releases and assist in troubleshooting product and API issues.
• Maintain documentation of requirements, workflows, data sources and API specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Business or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Data Products, APIs, Business Analysis or a related role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, authentication and API integrations.
• Good understanding of databases and data concepts, preferably Postgres SQL.
• Familiarity with the SDLC; experience with Jira, Confluence, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI or similar is a plus.
• Preferred: basic Python and JavaScript, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and SaaS or data-driven platform experience.
