Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process and analyze human‑generated datasets. This fully remote position focuses on building robust backend services for both real‑time and batch data processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines that handle large‑scale human‑generated datasets.
• Develop and maintain backend services supporting real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to maintain platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Experience with distributed systems such as Kafka or Spark.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
