Solution Architect – Banking (Retail)

About the role

The Solution Architect will lead the design of innovative, scalable solutions for retail banking products and platforms. You will ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, drive API and micro‑service adoption, and support engineering teams throughout the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify business needs and design end‑to‑end solutions that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Enforce architectural governance and adherence to enterprise standards across all phases of delivery.
• Guide engineering teams in building robust, high‑performance products, emphasizing reusability and extensibility.
• Promote the adoption of APIs, micro‑services, and open‑banking integrations for both external partners and internal service orchestration.
• Recommend and oversee modernization initiatives to keep retail banking platforms future‑ready.
• Ensure security architecture and compliance (OAuth2.0, FAPI2.0, TLS/mTLS, GDPR/PII) are embedded in customer‑facing applications.
• Collaborate with agile delivery squads, product owners, and operations to deliver solutions on time and at scale.
• Maintain a technology radar focused on retail banking trends and propose continuous‑improvement innovations.

Required profile

• 15+ years of application development experience, including 5+ years as a Solution Architect.
• Strong background in banking technology and experience delivering banking applications.
• Proven ability to work within retail digital squads, balancing agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Senior stakeholder management and expertise in creating blueprint, high‑level and low‑level designs.
• Experience defining functional and non‑functional requirements and driving performance testing and tuning.

• Micro‑services architecture, API design, Domain‑Driven Design.
• Java, Node.js, SpringBoot.NET Core, React, React Native.
• API gateways, service mesh, emerging AI technologies.
• SQL, Oracle, MongoDB (NoSQL).
• OAuth2.0, FAPI2.0, TLS/mTLS, GDPR/PII compliance.
• Multi‑cloud environments, TOGAF (preferred).
