Tax Accountant - EA/CPA (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant (EA or CPA) to work remotely on a contract basis, providing federal and state tax preparation services for individual and business clients. The position supports a global accounting firm and requires accurate, compliant filing across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Ensure all filings comply with current tax laws and regulations.
• Research complex tax issues and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Maintain client records and documentation in accordance with tax standards.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• At least 3 years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as TurboTax.
• Experience using Drake tax software.
