Tax Manager – Chartered Accountant (UK Tax)

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Tax Manager to lead the Pakistan‑based tax function for a growing UK accountancy practice. The role involves overseeing UK corporation tax, personal tax, capital gains tax, P11D and related compliance and advisory work while managing a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, coach and develop a team of up to four tax staff.
• Plan workloads, allocate cases and ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met.
• Oversee and review UK corporation tax returns (CT600), Self‑Assessment returns, capital gains tax computations and P11Ds.
• Ensure compliance with UK tax legislation, HMRC requirements and internal quality standards.
• Identify technical issues, tax risks and planning opportunities early.
• Manage HMRC correspondence, notices, enquiries and penalty matters.
• Maintain accurate workflow records and improve working papers, templates and checklists.
• Monitor team quality, productivity and turnaround times, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ICAP Chartered Accountant.
• Minimum four years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong practical experience in UK tax compliance, preparation and review.
• Proven experience managing or supervising a tax or accounting team.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong technical research, analytical and review skills with high attention to detail.
