Technology Intern - Cybersecurity (SOC)

About the role

Harvantra Technologies, a cybersecurity firm providing 24/7 managed SOC services with expertise in SIEM (Splunk, Wazuh), VAPT, incident response, threat hunting, EDR and cloud security, offers an on-site Technology Intern position in Islamabad, Pakistan. The internship gives hands-on exposure to cybersecurity practices and builds practical skills for a career in information security.

Key responsibilities

• Support cybersecurity operations by assisting with log analysis, basic threat research and incident documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
• Help configure monitoring tools and contribute to reports.
• Test security controls and take part in internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Collaborate with technical staff on small projects related to SOC processes, network and cloud security, and improvements to internal tools and workflows.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through coursework, personal projects, certifications or participation in security communities or competitions.
• Willingness to work on-site in Islamabad and follow the internship schedule set by the company.

Required skills

• Foundational technical skills in networking, Windows/Linux operating systems and basic cybersecurity concepts.
• Ability to learn and use security tools and platforms such as SIEM, EDR, network monitoring and cloud security solutions.
• Analytical, problem-solving and research abilities, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
• Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork.
