Total Rewards Manager – Human Resources

About the role

The Total Rewards Manager will lead the design, implementation and administration of a comprehensive total rewards strategy for faculty and staff across Aga Khan University. Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, you will ensure the university’s compensation programmes remain competitive, aligned with business objectives and support talent attraction and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the total rewards team on all compensation matters, including market midpoint analysis.
• Advise senior leadership on compliance requirements, reward policies, systems and tools.
• Develop and refine the reward strategy in line with the university’s business strategy.
• Identify business needs with HR Business Partners and propose affordable, sustainable reward solutions.
• Analyse market trends and benchmark AKU’s remuneration offerings, recommending adjustments or new reward elements.
• Communicate reward plans to stakeholders and raise awareness of changes.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of attraction and retention strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in total rewards, compensation or benefits management.
• Strong understanding of external best‑practice trends and innovative reward strategies.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable reward solutions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
