Trainee Engineer – Roads & Highways (Uthal, Pakistan)

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Trainee Engineer to join its Roads and Highways project in Uthal, Balochistan. The position offers hands‑on exposure to civil engineering works on highways, pavements, embankments and bridges, supporting both site and office activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in monitoring and inspecting highway works, including pavements, embankments and bridges.
• Prepare and support site documentation, field reports and material verification.
• Coordinate technical clarifications with contractors and sub‑contractors.
• Participate in site meetings and provide regular updates to senior staff.
• Support material approval processes and assist in project execution tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Strong willingness to learn and gain practical experience in highway and infrastructure projects.
• Good organisational and communication abilities.
