Unit Head – NOCs & Permissions (AVP)

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan is hiring a Unit Head for its NOCs & Permissions unit in Karachi, reporting to the Wing Head HR Operations. The role supervises and manages the processing of permissions and NOC cases in line with bank policies and procedures. Employment is on a three-year contractual basis, renewable at the management's discretion.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the overall functions of the NOCs & Permissions Unit.
• Process and ensure timely disposal of permission and NOC cases according to applicable policies and procedures.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and proper documentation of cases before submission for approval.
• Maintain records, registers and databases of processed cases.
• Monitor pending cases and ensure they are disposed of within prescribed timelines.
• Guide staff and stakeholders on HR rules and procedures.
• Protect the confidentiality and integrity of employee and service-related information.
• Generate and maintain dashboards and MIS reports for senior management review.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation or equivalent from a university or college recognized by the HEC of Pakistan; a Master's degree or professional certification preferred.
• At least 6 years of HR operations or HR record management experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Ability to coordinate with senior management, HR units and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HR policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Drafting and communication skills for official correspondence and approvals.
• Record management, documentation and verification skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word.
• Project-management skills for large-scale data collection and digitization exercises.
