Accountant – Finance, Treasury & Trade

About the role

The Accountant will support a broad range of finance functions at Pak-Arab Refinery Limited, including Treasury, Trade Finance, Taxation, Cost & Management Accounting, and Import/Export Finance. The role involves financial reporting, analysis, compliance, process improvement and providing financial support to business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Treasury and Trade Finance activities, including letters of credit and cash management.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, cost and margin statements, and period‑end reconciliations.
• Support taxation, cost accounting, and management accounting processes.
• Handle import/export documentation, duties, taxes and freight related to trade finance.
• Identify financial variances, investigate exceptions and recommend practical solutions.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives across finance functions.

Required profile

• Minimum 16 years of education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACMA/CIMA, MBA (Finance) are an advantage.
• Up to 8 years of relevant post‑qualification experience in one or more finance areas (Treasury, Imports/Exports, Taxation, Cost & Management Accounting, Trade Finance).
• Working knowledge of import and export documentation, letters of credit, duties, taxes and freight procedures.
• Strong analytical ability to investigate variances and propose solutions.
• Experience in the oil & gas, refining or petroleum industry is preferred.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA (SAP FICO).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation and letters of credit handling.
