Accountant

About the role

Jeeny, a joint venture between MEIG, Rocket Internet and IMENA, is looking for an Accountant to manage daily financial transactions, keep accurate accounting records and run daily bank reconciliations. The role covers customer and vendor invoicing, supporting month-end closing and audits, and is based in the company's offices in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Amman, Lahore and Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Record outgoing bank payments and incoming receipts in the ERP, attach bank advice and approved payment requests, and flag unidentified receipts for resolution within 2 business days
• Record bank charges, FX differences, interest and inter-account transfers daily
• Raise and post customer invoices in the ERP from approved contracts, POs or billing reports, ensure ZATCA compliance (VAT rate, VAT number, QR code, e-invoice status) and post on the day of issue
• Record vendor invoices matched to PO and goods/service receipt (2- or 3-way match), validate VAT and input VAT eligibility, and maintain vendor master data
• Handle credit notes and adjustments, ensuring ZATCA rules and correct VAT reversal
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepayments and reclassifications with supporting calculations
• Attach the full supporting pack to every ERP entry and chase missing documents the same day
• Clear the daily queue, report unpostable items to the Supervisor, and reconcile each bank account daily with explanations kept under 3 business days
• Support month-end close, sub-ledger reconciliations, VAT returns and internal/external audits, and respond to vendor statements and customer balance confirmations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bank reconciliations and invoice processing
• Good written communication in Arabic and English

Required skills

• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or Odoo
• Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliation formulas)
• High attention to detail and disciplined daily routine
