Senior Manager, M&A Client Engagement & Deal Operations

About the role

Cannar M&A is a boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm serving small and mid-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, investors and corporate buyers across North America and Europe. It is seeking a Senior Manager, M&A Client Engagement & Deal Operations to lead the operational execution of multiple cross-border M&A engagements. The role reports to the Founding Partners and General Manager, with day-to-day direction from the Founder and Managing Partner, and is based onsite in DHA Phase VI, Bukhari Commercial, Karachi.

This is not a technical M&A advisory position: technical work such as valuation, financial modelling, deal structuring, negotiation strategy, legal and tax advice remains with the M&A Partners and professional advisors. The role focuses on transaction coordination, client engagement, operational excellence and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for sellers, buyers, investors and approved stakeholders, coordinating onboarding, engagement documentation, NDAs and questionnaires.
• Manage multiple live M&A engagements, coordinate meetings, briefing packs, follow-ups and action plans, and track milestones, approvals, information requests and deadlines.
• Coordinate document exchange and virtual data rooms while maintaining confidentiality and version control.
• Prepare executive briefing papers, company profiles, business summaries and management reports, attend client and investor meetings, and produce meeting minutes and action trackers.
• Coordinate research, sourcing, marketing and administrative teams, supervise at least one direct report, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Maintain CRM systems, transaction trackers, document repositories and reporting dashboards, and provide weekly management reports on pipeline, risks and milestones.

Required profile

• MBA from a top-tier university or business school.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience in client engagement, transaction coordination, project management, consulting, corporate finance, professional services or similar high-trust environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex engagements and experience communicating with business owners, senior executives, investors or corporate clients.
• Outstanding written and spoken English.
• Preferred: M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, business brokerage, consulting, accounting or legal advisory experience; international exposure, project management certification, CRM expertise, digital marketing experience or a second European language.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, project management software, e-signature solutions and virtual data rooms.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, attention to detail, confidentiality and leadership capabilities.

What we offer

• Gross monthly salary of PKR 200,000.
• Performance-based commission of 0.5% of the total value of each qualifying transaction, subject to company policy.
• Shared monthly learning and book allowance of PKR 20,000 for the M&A team.
• Direct mentorship from experienced M&A professionals and exposure to international cross-border transactions.
• A defined pathway to M&A Country Director Southeast Asia within approximately 3-5 years.
