Accountant / Senior Accountant - Group Reporting & Consolidation

About the role

Al Ghurair is looking for an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join its Group Statutory Reporting function. You will support the preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial information and work closely with business unit finance teams and external auditors. The role reports to the EVP – Statutory Reporting & Tax.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Group IFRS consolidation, including consolidation schedules, elimination entries, intercompany balances and consolidation adjustments.
• Support statutory reporting and the preparation of financial statement disclosures.
• Review financial information submitted by business units and flag accounting or reporting inconsistencies.
• Support the application of IFRS accounting standards to Group transactions.
• Provide year-end audit support, including quality schedules and timely responses to external auditor requests.
• Work with business unit finance teams to resolve consolidation, reporting and audit matters.
• Standardize and automate consolidation and reporting processes, including Excel templates, reconciliations and reporting schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience, with at least 2-3 years in IFRS consolidation.
• Core audit background, with Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
• ACCA or CA finalist (ICAP) preferred.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and consolidated financial statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Oracle FCCS experience is a big plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear communication and a collaborative approach.
