Assistant Manager - Accounting (US GAAP)

About the role

An experienced Assistant Manager - Accounting (US GAAP) is sought for a growing team in Islamabad. The role manages end-to-end accounting for several US-based clients and supervises a team of Accountants and Bookkeeping Specialists, reporting directly to the Head of Accounts. It is a full-time, onsite position with timings from 2 PM to 11 PM Pakistan Standard Time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting cycle for multiple US-based clients, maintain accurate general ledger records and comply with US GAAP.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing, review and analyse financial transactions, and prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Manage vendor bills and customer invoicing and collections, and review AP and AR transactions.
• Review bank, credit card, loan and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies; process payroll for assigned clients.
• Review the work of junior accountants and bookkeepers, assign daily tasks, coach the team and escalate complex matters to the Accounting Manager.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinate for missing documents and help clients with reporting needs.
• Improve internal accounting processes and ensure adherence to company SOPs and quality standards.

Required profile

• ACCA, CA or MS Accounting & Finance.
• 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably with US-based clients; experience leading or supervising accountants or bookkeepers is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal English, and ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and formulas.
