Assistant Manager Legal - JazzSure Insurance

About the role

JazzSure Insurance is looking for an Assistant Manager Legal (grade AM-I) based in Karachi. The Legal function supports the business in navigating legal, regulatory, contractual and operational requirements, and the Assistant Manager provides legal support and advisory services across business and operational functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support and practical advice to business and operational functions
• Draft, review, negotiate and vet agreements, contracts, MoUs, NDAs and vendor agreements
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and contractual risks
• Support compliance with insurance laws and regulations, and monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments
• Support litigation, disputes, claims, legal notices and proceedings in coordination with external counsel
• Conduct legal research, prepare legal opinions and correspondence, and maintain legal records, contract databases and trackers
• Assist in developing and reviewing legal policies, procedures, templates and governance documents

Required profile

• LLB from a recognized institution; bar qualification or enrollment is an advantage
• 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, corporate legal practice or a reputable law firm
• Experience with commercial agreements, contracts, MoUs and NDAs
• Working knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment and regulatory matters
• Experience managing or supporting legal notices, disputes, claims and litigation with external counsel
