Project Trainee - Legal

About the role

The Project Trainee provides proactive, detail-oriented support to an in-house Legal team. The role offers practical exposure to legal technology and AI adoption, contract lifecycle management, commercial contracting, litigation support, legal research and continuous process improvement. It is a one-year contractual position.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to legal technology and AI initiatives, including developing training materials, user guidance and supporting documentation.
• Support adoption of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform through data migration, template creation, testing and user training.
• Help standardize contracting processes by maintaining contract templates, clause banks, playbooks and self-service guidance.
• Conduct legal research and support governance, compliance and departmental projects.
• Assist with the review, drafting and redlining of commercial contracts under the guidance of the Legal Counsel.
• Support litigation and dispute matters through document management, case preparation and maintenance of matter trackers.
• Maintain accurate records, trackers and supporting documentation while handling multiple priorities on time.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong interest in corporate and commercial law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred: prior internship in a law firm or in-house legal team; exposure to CLM systems or legal technology platforms; familiarity with AI tools and an interest in their responsible use; interest in antitrust, corporate, procurement or contract management law.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Legal research and contract drafting support.
