Assistant Packaging Development Manager – Home Care

About the role

Unilever is seeking an Assistant Packaging Development Manager for its Home Care portfolio in Karachi. You will work within the R&D function to deliver packaging projects on time, ensure technical compliance, and support sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assigned packaging development projects on time and in full, meeting First Time Right KPIs.
• Assess packaging fitness through testing, main plant trials, and transit trials.
• Create technical specifications and bill of materials in SAP PLM, interfacing with MM and PP modules.
• Contribute to project teams to develop innovative packaging solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners such as marketing, supply chain, and supply management.
• Build effective relationships with packaging suppliers to secure cost‑effective and technology‑driven solutions.
• Lead sustainability projects aligned with business objectives.
• Utilise SAP PLM, BPM, Teamcenter/Active Workspace, CAD and CAPE software for project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer, Industrial & Manufacturing, Mechanical engineering or related field.
• Core understanding of packaging development, technical systems, and common business tools.
• Experience planning, managing, and reviewing factory trials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially under tight timelines.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and project‑management mindset.
• Leadership capability with a results‑oriented attitude.
