Assistant Resident Engineer – Structure

About the role

SMEC is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer – Structure to support a Roads and Highways project in Kuchlak, Balochistan. The role involves supervising structural works, particularly bridges and related components, ensuring they meet quality and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader in reviewing and approving structural designs for bridges, culverts and related works.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved specifications, drawings and quality standards.
• Prepare, review and submit progress reports while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with local authorities and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of structural components.
• Identify and resolve on‑site technical issues related to structural works, providing practical solutions to keep the project on track.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years supervising highway structural projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural design standards and quality‑control procedures.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
