AVP Technology – UNIX & J2EE Platforms

About the role

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Technology will lead the design, implementation, and support of UNIX and J2EE platforms across a large‑scale environment. This senior role ensures high availability, security compliance, and performance of critical infrastructure while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 BAU support for incident, change, and problem management.
• Plan and execute OS migrations, upgrades, and patching for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX, HP‑UNIX, Oracle Linux and other flavors.
• Implement hardening measures following CIS baselines and manage vulnerability remediation.
• Deploy and manage virtualization solutions such as VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM VIOS, and HP VSP.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware including IBM Power, Oracle Exadata, HP, Dell, and x86 servers.
• Develop shell scripts and automation tools for routine tasks and firmware upgrades.
• Support containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Cloud virtualization.
• Lead server builds, cloud portal management, and project‑specific activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supporting UNIX platforms in large‑scale environments.
• Proven ability to manage OS migrations, upgrades, and security hardening.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, firmware, and virtualization issues.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 support model and handle incident response.
