Azure Data Engineer – PowerBI & Data Factory

About the role

The Azure Data Engineer will design, build and maintain data pipelines and reporting solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will translate requirements into scalable data flows and visualisations using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics and Power BI.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements to define data solutions.
• Design, develop and optimise Azure Data Factory pipelines and dataflows.
• Implement security and authorization mechanisms, including Row‑Level Security in Power BI.
• Integrate data from Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Stream Analytics and other sources.
• Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for end‑users.
• Adapt solutions as project scope evolves and ensure data governance compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or software development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Azure Data Factory (ADF) – pipelines and dataflows.
• Power BI – report development and RLS implementation.
• Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database.
• Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake and Azure Stream Analytics.
• Data modelling, database design and SQL Server best practices.
• Knowledge of master data management, data warehousing and BI architecture.
