Chemical Manager - Finished Goods & Quality Compliance

About the role

The Chemical Manager leads, manages and monitors the Finished Goods section and oversees EHS and quality compliance of the laboratory. The role covers instrument qualification, data integrity, CAPA closure, EHS stewardship and rapid resolution of analytical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor timely release of finished goods and zero stockouts caused by QC delays (monthly)
• Manage and qualify new instruments; lead troubleshooting and engage OEMs for complex issues
• Define roles, workloads and cross-coverage, maintain a skills matrix and cascade departmental goals into SMART goals
• Run tier meetings (daily, weekly, monthly), coach on data integrity, OOS/OOT, safety and problem solving
• Enforce ALCOA+ across paper and electronic records; review and approve SOPs, STMs, specifications and logbooks with version control
• Ensure validated computerised systems, controlled access, internal audits and on-time CAPA closure
• Support process validation analytics, CSV/GxP system validation with QA/IT and change controls
• Govern OOS/LIR investigations, represent QC in cross-functional forums and handle urgent documents, crises and recalls
• EHS: track and deliver EHS goals, conduct chemical risk assessments, waste segregation and disposal, report near misses and aim for zero lost-time incidents

Required profile

• M.Sc. in Chemistry or Pharm.D.
• 8-10 years of experience in the same capacity
• Knowledge of QC/QA requirements, annual product quality review and related activities
