Country Technology Manager / CIO – Pakistan

About the role

The Country Technology Manager / CIO will define and deliver the technology strategy, infrastructure and service management for Standard Chartered in Pakistan, ensuring secure, resilient and cost‑effective services across all business segments.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business strategies into technology roadmaps, capacity plans and investment initiatives aligned with approved business plans.
• Lead delivery of technology projects, system implementations, upgrades and transformation initiatives, ensuring production readiness and smooth transition to operations.
• Drive innovation, digitisation and process simplification to improve efficiency, controls and client experience.
• Manage the country technology budget, monitor financial performance and prioritise investments.
• Oversee resilient, secure and high‑performing technology infrastructure, service management and production engineering.
• Govern incident, problem and change management processes in line with Group standards.
• Identify and mitigate technology, cybersecurity and operational risks, ensuring compliance with risk frameworks and audit requirements.
• Lead regulatory audits and compliance activities related to AML/CTF, sanctions and governance.
• Provide leadership to the Country Technology function and manage stakeholder, vendor and commercial relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior technology leadership, preferably as a CIO or Country Technology Manager.
• Strong track record of translating business priorities into technology strategies and delivering large‑scale transformation programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial performance and investment prioritisation.
• Experience overseeing technology risk, governance, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and people leadership skills.
