Data Architect

About the role

Techwards is seeking a skilled Data Architect to design and implement scalable data solutions for its retail D2C clients. You will work on Databricks‑based lakehouse architectures, delivering high‑performance pipelines that drive business value.

Key responsibilities

• Design and govern scalable data lakehouse architectures on Databricks.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for reliability and performance.
• Create dimensional models and manage data lakes/lakehouses, ensuring proper cataloging.
• Integrate Databricks with other cloud platforms and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Continuously monitor emerging data technologies and improve existing architectures.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of professional experience in data architecture or engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data quality, security, and governance principles.

Required skills

• Apache Spark and Databricks (hands‑on experience).
• Advanced SQL for data transformation and analytics.
• Distributed Spark job development.
• Experience with OLAP databases such as ClickHouse, DuckDB, or Redshift.
• Design of streaming data pipelines.
• Python programming, including PySpark, Pandas, and NumPy.
• Proficiency with data lake file formats (CSV, Parquet, JSON, Avro).
• Metastore management (Unity Catalog, Hive Metastore, Glue Data Catalog).
