Database Administrator (DBA) – IT Operations

About the role

The Database Administrator (DBA) will ensure the stability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of our Microsoft SQL Server platforms. Working primarily from an offshore location in Pakistan, the DBA will support the transition to a standardized, automated data platform across on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments, including patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance; troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and resource bottlenecks.
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery processes, ensuring compliance with RPO/RTO targets.
• Implement and support high‑availability, replication, and HA/DR solutions.
• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, SQL) and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Contribute to hybrid‑cloud architecture design (Azure SQL IaaS/PaaS) and data platform modernization.
• Participate in incident handling, root‑cause analysis, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in on‑premises and cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of database security, RBAC, and compliance requirements.
