Deputy Manager Generation – Finance

About the role

This finance role drives financial planning, budgeting and reporting for generation assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. It acts as a finance business partner to user departments, giving analysis, guidance and insights for decision-making, resource allocation and long-term investment planning, while maintaining financial control across O&M activities and developing performance reports.

Key responsibilities

• Budgeting (25%): prepare and monitor annual O&M budgets aligned with investment plans and regulatory requirements, monitor MYT allowances, develop budget reports for management and Board review, maintain WBS structures in SAP, and prepare budget manuals for user departments.
• Reporting (30%): conduct variance analysis, monitor financial performance against targets, manage budgetary approvals, prepare monthly O&M commitments, cash flow forecasts and performance reports, reconcile actual O&M expenses with budget, and act as a finance business partner.
• P&L (15%): prepare monthly plant-wise P&L statements based on tariff structures and cost breakdowns, allocate central costs, reconcile revenues and costs, and issue plant-wise P&L reports.
• MYT (10%): ensure compliance with investment plan limits, maintain long-term financial models, review investment forecasts, prepare regulatory submissions under NEPRA guidelines, and run scenario analysis on tariff changes.
• Ad-hoc support (10%): support regulatory and internal audit engagements, board requirements and investor analysis, compliance documentation, and special projects such as cost rationalization and benchmarking.
• Process improvements and automation (10%): implement budget policies, optimize processes, conduct risk assessments and audits, update SOPs, design automated workflows, and lead team management and skill development.

Required profile

• Education: ACCA, ICMA, MBA or a relevant degree.
• Experience: 4-5 years.
