Director Finance - Pharma & Healthcare

About the role

A leading multinational pharmaceutical and healthcare company is looking for a Director Finance to join its Karachi office. The role reports to the Vice President and has a reporting line to the regional or global finance team. It suits candidates based in Pakistan or willing to relocate to Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Head the finance function as part of the leadership team, responsible for financial results, reporting and internal controls.
• Set the financial strategy and long-term plan with the General Manager, aligned with group targets.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting and hold business leaders accountable for their financial commitments.
• Guide pricing, investment and cost decisions with clear financial analysis and recommendations.
• Own governance and compliance with group policies, local accounting standards, tax and customs, acting as the main finance contact for the group, external auditors and tax authorities.
• Manage currency, inflation, working capital and cash risks to protect profitability and support growth.
• Oversee procurement and supply chain costs where they sit within finance.
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing finance team, including succession planning, and contribute to regional initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (ACA or FCA) from ICAP, with articleship completed from a Big 4 firm.
• Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience.
• At least 3 years heading the finance function of a multinational pharmaceutical company.
• Experience reporting to a multinational group while managing local tax compliance.
• Credibility to influence senior leaders and lead change across functions.
• Experience overseeing procurement or supply chain is an advantage.
