English Tutor – Academic & Exam Preparation

About the role

The English Tutor will join MAQx’s educational consultancy team in Islamabad, delivering high‑quality English language instruction to students preparing for study‑abroad programmes. The role focuses on academic English, IELTS and TOEFL readiness, combining classroom teaching with personalised feedback to help learners achieve their language goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging individual and small‑group lessons covering grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking.
• Prepare and use practice materials tailored to IELTS, TOEFL and other proficiency exams.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate performance records, and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with counselling staff to align language training with each student’s study‑abroad objectives.
• Support occasional online tutoring sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of MAQx’s language programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or a related field (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience teaching English grammar and communication skills.
• Experience preparing learners for IELTS, TOEFL or similar proficiency exams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with counselling staff and maintain a learner‑centred approach.
• Strong organisational skills, reliability and commitment to inclusive, non‑discriminatory teaching practices.
