Financial Accountant – UK & Irish Tax Compliance

About the role

The Financial Accountant will support UK and Irish clients by ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and effective accounts management. Working onsite at our Gujranwala office, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and providing advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate transaction recording.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts for UK and Irish clients.
• Perform detailed balance‑sheet and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and support other tax compliance requirements (Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Withholding Tax).
• Utilise accounting and tax software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and Oracle Financials.
• Liaise directly with clients on accounting, taxation, payroll and reporting matters.
• Collaborate with the Country Manager on audit and compliance queries.
• Draft professional correspondence to clients and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to internal controls and policies.
• Stay updated on changes to UK and Irish accounting standards and tax laws.
• Assist the accounting team with ad‑hoc analysis, reporting and special projects.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple client expectations.
• Professional attitude with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
